Whether you are a musician with years of experience, or someone who has never picked up a musical instrument before and are keen to learn, we always welcome new players to come along and give our bands a try.
There is no minimum standard required for entry to any of our bands, but placement is always at the Musical Director’s discretion and we’ll try to fit you in to a band that is playing at a level that suits you. You’ll also need a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and to be able to attend regular rehearsals.
Our Beginner bands are an ideal place to start, particularly for school aged children, and keen adult “first timers”.
More accomplished musicians under 19 years of age can participate in our Junior bands. We sometimes have older musicians in the junior bands to cover particular parts, and it’s a good way for adults to progress from the beginner level, but when the Juniors are in competitions only the under 19’s are permitted to play.
For the Brass Bands, we are also able to provide loan instruments for a fee of $60.
Our annual fees are just $100 for a junior or student membership, $125 for a senior membership, or $220 for a family membership.
For more information you can drop in and talk to us at one of our weekly rehearsals, or contact us by phone, e-mail, or on Facebook.
